Before owning Melody Hill, former owners Charlie and Marion Mandeville owned Stillwater Golf Course a 6 hole, then converted to 9 hole course in Smithfield, which is now part of Rt 295. When the state wanted to build Rt 295 Stillwater was forced to move to the village of Harmony within the town of Glocester. In 1965 Delfino Corporation built the first nine, (which is now known as the current back nine, holes 10-18). They opened in 1967 with the hope of expanding in the near future. The second nine ( the current front 9, holes 1-9) opened in 1976. Unfortunately Charlie Mandeville never got to see the second nine in full operation, passing away right before it opened. His wife, Marion became sole owner. She with the help of her family ran the course until 2017. In July of 2017 the course was purchased by the Hoenig family that has owned and operated Raceway Golf Club since 1940. The Hoenig Family has formed Tri State Golf Company that now operates Dudley Hill Golf Club, Raceway Golf Club & Restaurant, Harrisville Golf Course, and Melody Hill Country Club.
